My collegiate goals and aspirations include immersing myself in the study of science, with a healthy dose of math and English, contributing to the achievements of a dedicated division two or three cross country/track team, and pursuing college based community service opportunities, particularly opportunities that use science based principal to improve lives.
As a competitive cross country/track participant what sets me apart is my attitude. I have witnessed teammates come and go; some unable to conquer the challenges competitive running presents. During these times I have called upon my constructive attitude to build my skills and encourage and support my teammates. I continually seek guidance from my teammates and coaches, as a way of maintaining my motivation, setting goals, and improving my performance. With the beginning of each new season I am eager to improve, motivated for success, and committed to hard work. By the end of each season my efforts have been rewarded, as I have enjoyed time improvements consistently between each and every season. I see a great opportunity for the more sophisticated collegiate sports environment to take me to a new level where my strides for improvement will likely be even greater.
I am different from other recruits because I have shown myself to be a valuable and caring contributor in the classroom, on the track and cross-country course, and as a member of the community. I always arrive to class prepared and ready to contribute to the classroom dialogue. I arrive to each track/cross country practice mentally and physically set to work my hardest. I enjoy the camaraderie of being with people of varied backgrounds and beliefs whether classmates, teammates, members of my church youth group, or co-workers. I am excited by the opportunities that lie ahead for me in college. I am eager to enjoy the rewards of hard work and I look forward to the relationships I will form within various collegiate communities.
