After moving from England, my family (especially my mom) has had a huge interest in running. When I was around eight years of age, I ran my first road race at Gillette Stadium. I continued to do this road race until I was twelve years old when I picked up running a bit more. Having a background with running, my mom helped me build up to my first 5k. I then worked my way up to a few 10ks and most recently a few half marathons. Even though I had a background with running when high school came around, I had no experience to competitive running like you see in cross country and track. Along with running, I had played soccer for most of my life at that point. Freshman year came around and I had to decide between soccer and cross country. It wasn't a hard decision given that I had never loved the game of soccer. Freshman year cross country was very different for me but I absolutely loved it. During the winter I had also been playing basketball which is what I did freshman year. The spring season of freshman year I participated in spring track which is when my love for running really kicked in. Sophomore year was a whole different story; I was stronger and knew what I needed to do in order to better myself as a runner. After improving significantly from freshman year cross country to sophomore year cross country, I decided to take on winter track instead of basketball and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have big intentions of upholding my distance running through college and even beyond. I have never loved a sport more than running and I truly try and devote myself to improving my times and making myself a better runner as a whole. This year I tried to involve myself with volunteering in a hospital to expose me to what my future has in store. I am top 15% of my class and have a 99.55 GPA out of 100. This sophomore cross country season I came in 13th in the South Coast Conference and 25th at the Twilight Invitational. I was also named captain for both junior and senior year as well as being a South Coast Conference All-Star. I am extremely committed to my personal training and overall my academic studies. My attitude towards my endeavors has helped me get to where I am today. I hope to improve and see how much I am actually capable of achieving. I look forward to seeing what my future has in store for me whether it be academically and/or athletically.
