When I was young I tried many different sports. I tried soccer, softball, basketball, swimming, dance and gymnastics, but none of them really interested me like running did. I started running in 3rd grade when I started Girls On The Run. Girls On The Run helped me realize how much I loved to run. I enjoyed the feeling that I got when I finished a hard workout and the adrenaline I got before races. I continued running ever since then, and I would love to keep running as long as I can. I think running is a sport that shapes you as a person and helps you succeed in life. Running teaches you how to work harder than you ever have before, it teaches you how to work and bond with a team, and it helps you realize the type of person you are. The feeling you get when racing is very unique and you can't get it any other way.
My collegiate goals are to work harder than ever, help my team, learn and get better along the way. I want to learn on the course and in the classroom. My academic goals are similar to my goals for running. I want to do my best, learn the most I can, and get better along the way. Something I think that is important is setting goals in everything you do. I know that when your mind is set on something you will see how much you are capable of.
