My name is Erika Denise Reid, 5' 9", 135 lbs and presently running indoor and outdoor track. My events are the 800M,1600M, 3200M and 4X800 relay. I am a successful student althlete on and off the field. I recently graduated from Cass Techinical High School in Detroit, Michigan. I have been running track since my freshman year. During my freshman year, I was able to be part of a successful 4X800 relay team which placed second in the City of Detroit which made me All-City as a freshman. Because of my athletic and competitive ability my coaches thought I would be a great candidate to be an alternate on the 4X800 State relay team. I ran cross country, indoor, and outdoor to better my performance overall in track. In 2011, I ran the 400M, 800M, 4X800M relay and throw the discus. I know that training is very important and I am truly dedicated to the sport of track and field. I would like to attend a university that will afford me the opportunity to run track, as well as, give me an excellent academic education. I plan to continue earning a high GPA in college and graduated from high school with an overall GPA of 3.58. Currently, I am open to the college I want to attend but plan to major in Athletic Training. Whatever university I attend, I will be a great student athlete. I will need financial assistance to help with furthering my education. My athletic goals are to run cross country and track & field at a Division 1 or Division 2 university. I love to compete and I am always looking for a challenge.
