I aspire to be a collegiate pole vaulter because I love the sport and I want to keep setting and meeting higher goals. I love pole vaulting because it is challenging and technique-driven. Before I started vaulting in 7th grade, I was a competitive gymnast for seven years. The lessons I learned from gymnastics-discipline, mental toughness, body control, being coachable, and being a good teammate helped me become a strong varsity track and field athlete beginning during my freshman year. I placed in the top eight at the MHSAA Division 1 State Finals during both my freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. I excel in the classroom as well as on the runway, having been recognized by the MITCA All-State Academic and Dexter Athletic Scholar Athlete Awards during my sophomore year. I am dedicated, outgoing, confident, goal-oriented, and a team player, as recognized by the 2023 Up-and-Coming Award and by the 2024 Coaches' Award for my willingness to step in when needed in the 4x400. Three fourths of the way through my high school track career, I am proud of how far I have come, and I am excited to see what else I can achieve.
