My passion for running started my sophomore year after returning to public schooling after the Covid pandemic. I joined the Track team in 2022 and immediately fell in love with running. From there, I joined my schools cross country team and started to train every morning that summer. Even though I was not the #1 runner on my team, I had drive and devotion to the sport which in return helped me improve my race times. This track season I found my love for middle distance, competing in the 4x800, 4x400, 800, and 400 races. I always had my PR in mind while racing and was successful in obtaining a new PR in every event. At regionals, my 4x800 team placed first, and my 4x400 team placed second to earn our spots in the States Finals Meet. This Spring, I also completed my first half marathon. Although this was the most challenging race I have ever done, I was able to beat my half marathon goal by 15 minutes. When I'm not running, I am a forward on the Traverse City North Stars Girls Hockey team. Being a year round athlete keeps me in shape and reaching my goals. Outside of athletics, I also participate in Youth in Government, Elk Rapids Interact Rotary Club, Traverse City Track Club, and the Elk Rapids Eco and Book Clubs. Academically I strive to do my best in all my classes and my dedication has shown in my grades.
