Hii, My name is Latrice and my goal is to Go to college and run D1. I ran track most of my life and I plan to continue running until I can no longer. I desire to become the first female in over 3 decades to break the world record in the 100m, which requires a lot of training but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get to that stage. I admire Florence Griffith Joyner because she encouraged me to believe that a woman can do anything she desires. I have always loved both academic and non-academic challenges, and I'm extremely dedicated when it comes to meeting goals of my own. Unfortunately, Covid-19 hit my freshman year of high school which damaged my GPA dramatically and is also the reason my SAT and ACT score is very low. But, I didn't let that affect me. I kept pushing, I kept my head held up high. I know I have the potential to endure the storms that will come my way. I'm consistent in making a change in myself I know I can make that happen by going to college. It will be a fresh start for me, and I believe I can prove my worth to everyone that doubted me. I decided to major in sports medicine. Sports medicine spoke to me unlike any other major I looked into. It's my first choice because as a track athlete it's only right to learn more about how my body and other’s work when actively moving. I chose that major because In the future I want to coach/train upcoming generations. I adore helping people; That's my happiness. I want to show that to the world, I want to make a name for myself, I want to be people's motivation, and someone they can relate to. I think of myself as a leader because I can set an example and let the people around me know on and off the track that your body and your mind can push beyond its limits.
