Running at the collegiate level is a goal that has always inspired me to work hard at every practice. I’m a very driven person and will put in the work to further improve my times. Middle distance running is my specialty in track and I am also on my varsity cross country team.
I qualified for state my freshman year in cross country, and then in the spring qualified in the 800 open and the 800 meter relay in track. My sophomore year I was a regional champion, which qualified me for state in the 400 meter relay as the anchor of my team. I was presented with the Varsity Track Team MVP Award my sophomore year and was a team captain of my varsity cross country team.
One of my greatest accomplishments was breaking the school record in the mile my sophomore year. My willingness to participate in 4 events at most meets, helped my team earn enough points to make it to track team state in 2023. I want to keep competing, and I think the competitiveness and coaching at the collegiate level will take me to the next step in my running career.
