My name is Maya Carson and I am currently a junior in high school. My primary objective is to find a college that best suits my major field of study while also being a great fit for a track team. I started running track in 7th grade and fell in love with the sport. On my first year of varsity in 9th grade, I was voted Rookie of the Year. Additionally, I have earned a top ten spot on my school record in each of the five events I have competed in. One of the best aspects of being on the track team is that not only can I compete with my team, but I can compete individually as well. I enjoy challenging myself and setting my own goals. The dedication and drive of my team also pushes me to try harder to succeed. I will continue to bring this drive and perseverance to my future college team as well.
Some of the other activities I participate in are varsity and JO volleyball, National Honor Society, journalism and volunteering with my local church youth group.
