Personal Statement

I started running track when I was in 6th grade. Because I also played volleyball and danced competitively, track was just something else I thought I'd do to gain experience.  The more I ran and learned to jump, the more I fell in love with the sport.  By the time I became a freshman in high school, track became my first love.  I was inspired to run track at the collegiate level while competing Freshmen year with my high school team and with an AAU track club, Ultimate Speed Academy. Track & Field  has been my primary focus ever since. Participating in collegiate sports is a dream I've had.  I also know that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity that has the potential to change my whole life.

My love for the sport fuels me to work out even during the off season.  My desire is to continuously improve as an athlete and I'm proud of the progress I've made over the years.  My coaches also recognize my passion and persistence.  I am a team leader and have held leadership roles since I was a freshman.  I am very coachable and  teachable. I enjoy learning new techniques or drills that can help make me a better athlete.  I am one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.

In the classroom, I am committed to studying and maintain a high GPA. In addition, I am involved in other student organizations and also volunteer at my church as a youth mentor.  I was recognized as an All-American Scholar in 2014 by the United States Achievement Academy.  I've also been a Girl Scout for 12 years.

My desire is to find a college that's the right match for me.  This would be an institution where I can push myself in both the classroom and on the track. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
