Personal Statement
I don't run, hurdle, or jump because I feel pressured or have some legacy to fill, I do it because I love it. I push myself harder and harder in every practice, then try to multiply that times two in meets. Every new season that arrives is like finally returning home from a long trip, its exciting to get back to where we left off from, then go even farther.
I started high-jumping in 7th grade and ill never forget the day I tried it for the first time... It was so natural to me and I felt like I could accomplish any height if I put my mind to it.
Hurdling began in the same year high jumping did. I tried it- and I admit- failed the first time I ever attempted those dreadful wooden hurdles. But I saw it as a challenge waiting to be accepted, and with time I got more coordinated and faster -which was a huge relief because I soon fell in love with this event as well.
Every now and then (season wise) I choose a new event to try new things. So far I have tried povault, 4x2 & 4x1 relays, as well as 100&200 meter dash's. Those are pretty fun too.
I aspire to be a veterinarian or an author, either one I'd enjoy really. I have a huge passion for both animals & science, as well as writing & reading books.
