College or university is an important time for many students to grow and discover their ambitions. In college, I hope to push my self to not only excel as a student, but as an athlete.
Before I became a track athlete, I was a gymnast. Gymnastics had pushed me to be the very best and I have derived some very important characteristics from the sport such as motivation, persistence and fast learning. I began track during my sophomore year of high school and have been doing track since.
I am an excellent candidate for a collegiate track program because I am driven and eager to learn. I would also love to bring more diversity to track and field programs across the country. The ability to maintain a satisfactory academic career as well as a respectable athletic career is a difficult task for many, but a task that I believe I will be successful at.
