Iyana Harper '18 Recruiting Profile

 When I was 8 a tragic event happened in my life my parents passed away . After that time I was determined to make them proud of me  7th grade I started running and man I loved it . 8th grade came around and thats when high school coaches started to notice the potential i had . I was pulled up on varsity and I had the chance to be 3 qualifying relays and go to state . I continually want to better myself to become a better student first and then athlete. I have learned over the years of my high school career that things are not just given to you, fast times are not fast just because you want them to be . I the athlete have to want it more then ever and I am willing to put in that work no matter what it takes. I have to put it all out to great outcome for my team, for my coach and for myself. I never give up one up, one my key strengths that many of my coaches say I have is my mentality. I am strong minded I am focused on a main goal win and get better . Nothing is that hard if you have the mind of a winner . Same with my school work, what I put out is what I get in return A B honor roll and a C might slip here and there but I make sure I'm all in . My goals are to compete at a collegiate level and be on a great time break records build my character more with other women and  get a great education .
