Esperanza Cruz '23 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a senior at Portales High School. I joined track in 7th grade and started as a long distance runner, but I always knew I was going to throw javelin. I started throwing discus In 8th grade and started throwing javelin in high school. I stopped running to focus on javelin and it has paid off. Due to Covid-19 I lost my freshman year, but I did not let that hold me back. I have progressed every year and my love has grown so much for this sport along the way.
