Personal Statement
My name is Julia Benton and I am a long distance, cross country, and track runner at Addison High School located in New York (class of 2024). Even though my 2021 season was my first time ever stepping out onto a cross country course, I have an unmatched passion and drive for this sport. Some may think that being “new” to cross country puts me at a disadvantage to other competitors, however I believe it gives me an edge that sets me apart from them. Being a newbie allows me to be impressionable from college coaches and having a new love for this sport that others may have lost over the years. I am fresh and capable. I am Julia Benton, and I am the future of woman’s collegiate cross country and long distance.
