Personal Statement
In the summer of 2014, at the age of twelve, I competed in and finished fourth at the Junior Olympics running the 80 meter hurdles. Competing against the best girls in the nation gave me the motivation to continue pushing myself to be the best I could be on and off the track. I became determined to stay on top. As focused as I was on my training, I worked equally as hard to keep my grades up. I am currently enrolled at the High School of American Studies at Lehman College, ranked number one in New York State, taking all AP and Honors courses. I believe much of my success as a student athlete is directly correlated to the hard work I put in running with my coach and track club. It has taught me the value of time management and has given me a very strong work ethic. Running track at a high level has shown me that nothing comes for free. It takes extremely hard work and determination to stay on top. As I begin my recruiting process, my college preferences remain open. I look forward to using my strong work ethic to further my athletic endeavors and maintain good grades, and to one day be a collegiate athlete.
