My name is Ireland Gable and I'm a 2022 grad and I currently have a 4 GPA and ranked 8th in my class. I am a multiple sport athlete who has been playing sports since Kindergarten and a model student and role model in the classroom. I have taken all honors and AP classes available to me and will have taken 5 AP classes and 8 honors classes at the end of my senior year. I have many academic as well as athletic awards. Such as the Cooperstown High School Global History and Geography Award and being a Center State Conference Scholar-Athlete. I would like to go to a college where I cannot only run track, but learn about things I am interested in, taught by people I know want to help me to that. School is always my number one priority, but sports are where I feel free. It allows me to express myself and do what I love. I first joined the track team in seventh grade. At first, it was simply a sport to fill the spring season. Once I started practicing and competing in meets was when I truly fell in love with the sport. I quickly realized I was very good at running and running fast. Even in seventh grade, I started having times faster than athletes on the varsity level. Freshman year was an excellent year for me on the track. I beat my personal record almost every race and came in first almost every time. Currently, my PR in the 100m is a 13.24 and in the 200m a 28.50. After the season was over, I knew I could do better next year. I trained all summer, all fall, and all winter. Unfortunately under circumstances no one saw coming, Covid-19 wiped out my sophomore season. As of right now, my school is on track to start our track season in mid-April so I am so excited to get back out there and do what I love. I would like to find a school that will support me in my success on and off the track.
