Shakira Shakur '21 Recruiting Profile

As a runner in both Cross Country and Track and Field, I aspire to be the best version of myself mentally and physically.  I trust in my Coach's critique and aim to surpass the standards set no matter the adversities faced along the way.  As a teammate I take sportsmanship seriously and never hesitate to give advice/aid  to anyone in need.  I am extremely competitive and depend on the environment around me to nourish my ambitions.  I tend to carry myself the same in academics due to the fact that I strive for the best possible grades.  Earning high achievements and being recognized as a leader, problem solver, and diligent worker gives me the motivation to work hard.  No matter what environment I am in, I do not let my character negatively change.  I am highly open minded throughout my daily life because understanding how others may feel is ideal in creating a positive and comfortable environment for everyone.  Additionally many tend to depend on me based on how i carry myself in terms of responsibility.  I make sure to listen to my superior (may it be a Professor or Coach) and always fulfill my given task on time.
