Personal Statement

Joining the track team at my school during my sophomore year was the greatest decision I've ever made. When I started running I questioned myself as to why I never started earlier. There are many people that started running at a much younger age than me, but i believe that I can reach their level and be just as successful. Track is the only sport I have connected to with best interests. Being on a team I've grasped the importance of team work, sacrifice and commitment. I don't only want to bring my talent of running on a team but i want to bring the same things i've learned and my hard working skills. I believe that I can also add my leadership skills to a program because I always want the chance to lift my teammates up. I am the type that if I see a person on my team slacking or they tire out on the track I would run besides them and tell them to pick it up or to just follow my pace with me. I've understand that not all the time a team can win, but if your team loses you can always learn and gain something from it.I am a great Athlete and dedicated and I never miss a single day of  practice and you can count on me to run any event.I am a student  and Athlete  of francis lewis high school and  i also run for a Club call Quiet Storm . I Have been running for two years when I started my 300 was 54 now its 43 and my 400 was 72 now its 59 with hard work .I know there is more to come and there is greatness in me because I train  hard every single day. I ran multiple event 55,100,200,300,400,600,800,5k and all relays .I also took part in millrose games and penns relay , Hersey games and Woman’s Colgate games. On my my days off from  track and school I volunteers at the food pantry to feed the needy every Thursday  .I am humble and always has a team spirit and helpful to other Athletes. After high school I would like to study in the medical field. I am looking for a program and college  that will offer me a great scholarship to continue my dream of running track while focusing on my education at the same time.
