I am junior at Apex Friendship High School who is very excited to advance to the varsity cross country team this year. I can't believe high school is almost done, but it hasn't been easy. I've had to overcome a few obstacles such as my spinal fusion for scoliosis at 13 years old and my diagnosed dyslexia. Throughout my time in school, I have learned to help myself in the best way I can to be successful. Dyslexia has not stopped me from trying my best and even to try and take harder classes. I am proud to have come so far with my grades and school. I run indoor and outdoor track as well as cross country and I also have played recreational soccer every year since I was 4. Since I started running freshman year, I have been growing and now advanced to one of the top varsity runners on my team. I have enjoyed the competitive experience on the Apex Friendship High School Cross Country and Track teams. I have always had an interest in animals, which may be an area in choosing a career or major. I have interests in drawing and baking as well as horticulture since I enjoy caring for my plants! My hope in this next year is to improve my cross country and track times and focus on areas of interest to help decide my college major.
