Lucia West '25 Recruiting Profile

I am Luci West, a Cardinal Gibbons High School junior in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am passionate about running long-distance and pushing myself to be the best I can be on and off the track. I am relatively new to the sport but have fallen in love with it and would love to continue competing after high school. My collegiate aspirations are to work hard to find my potential, support my teammates, and contribute to my team. My current PRs are 20:09 for the 5k (XC) and 5:32 for the 1600m. My goals for this spring are to go under 5:20 for the 1600m, to challenge myself in trying steeplechase for the first time, and to put my best effort forth at every race and training opportunity. My current GPA is 4.2, and my SAT score is 1240. My core values are respect, accountability, authenticity, and compassion. I like to practice these by encouraging my teammates, making sure my team does our training to the best of our ability, listening and applying my coach's feedback, and being honest about my dreams.
