Hello, my name is McClaren Jackson and I am a track and field athlete looking to further my athletic and academic career through collegiate competition. After participating in gymnastics for 8 years, a major shoulder injury forced me to retire abruptly. This left me feeling lost and depressed, until I decided to give track and field a try. With my father and other family member involved in the sport, I quickly discovered a passion for running and throwing events. I am drawn to the competitive nature of sports and the overall collegiate experience, where I envision myself growing and becoming a well-rounded individual. I am eager to contribute to the college community as much as it contributes to me. What sets me apart from others is the intense dedication and work ethic I developed during my time in gymnastics. Practicing 20 hours a week for 5 days each week instilled in me a sense of resilience and determination that has carried over into all aspects of my life. This work ethic has shaped me into the person I am today, both academically and athletically.I am excited about the opportunities that track and field at the collegiate level will offer me, and I am confident that my strong work ethic and determination will help me succeed both on and off the track. Thank you for considering me as a potential recruit for your program.
