I started running through triathlons when I was five years old and I ran my first 5k through Girls On the Run when I was nine. I have also been proudly apart-of MSA, a competitive year round swim team, since 2012. I started competitively running in 6th grade when I joined my middle schools cross country team. I immediately fell in love with the sport and the family I have created from it. Running has allowed me to push and challenge myself. It has allowed me to make friends that will last a lifetime.
I have been running cross country and track for my school for six years. I have competed at the varsity level throughout middle school and high school. My plan for college is to study Exercise Science in hopes to become a physical therapist. This past cross country season I struggled with a stress fracture in my shin. In order to keep my stamina, endurance and strength up I turned to swimming full time throughout the fall and early winter. I was determined to come back stronger for the indoor track season. Upon my return, I have been successfully showing improvement in every indoor meet this season.
I take my academics very seriously. I have taken AP and honors classes throughout high school and maintained a good GPA. I am apart of different clubs at my school like Beta Club, French Club and the Isabella Santos Foundation. I have also been part of my schools concert band since 6th grade.
I am looking forward to continuing my academic and athletic career at the collegiate level.
