My name is Kenzie Gullickson and I have been an athlete for as long as I can remember. I started competitive gymnastics when I was 9 years old. Gymnastics brought me to my true passion… pole vaulting. I started pole vaulting in 7th grade and was moved up to compete for my high school varsity team at the end of my 8th grade year. I qualified for state as a Freshman and I placed 2nd at regionals and 4th at state as a Sophomore. I am the North Dakota STATE CHAMPION this year (junior year). I also long jump, high jump and triple jump. My freshman year I placed 5th at the state meet in triple jump, my junior year I placed 4th. My PR is 35’11.50” I have been named the most valuable jumper on my varsity team as a freshman, sophomore and junior.
I am no longer a competitive gymnast, however I started to dive for my high school diving team as a freshman. I have qualified for state all three years I have competed and I was also named most valuable diver for 2 years.
I am looking forward to being able to compete track and field in college. My goal is to pursue a degree that puts me in a position to help people, possibly a nursing degree or going to med school. I have a 4.167 GPA and I am a member of the National Honor Society. I take academics very seriously and this will play a big decision in my college choice. I am ready to grow physically and mentally and work hard on and off the track. I love being a part of a team and I am looking forward to finding a team that feels like a family.
