Personal Statement
When people ask me what my hobbies are, I answer with "running." I began running track in the 8th grade and made the varsity team that same year. I did not have running at a higher level in my mind until a my team got a coach to specialize in distance running. That coach made me realize the potential I have and the many opportunities that I never knew were out there.
I am a very coachable athlete and I am always looking for ways to improve. I am a very hard worker and I strive to do my best. I am very passionate about running which makes me want to do even better than I can imagine. I love being a part of a team, but I also love that my results will only affect my personal training and work.
At school I try my very hardest to maintain a high GPA, which has not always been easy. My grades mean a lot to me as a strive to keep my spot at the top of my class. I am involved in volleyball, track, FCCLA, student government, and I am a class officer.
Running at the collegiate level would be a dream come true. I want a college that has many opportunities and has a lot of student involvement. I want to be running at my level so there is great competition that will only make me better. I ultimately want to be the best runner I can be and to make myself, my family, my teammates, and my coaches proud.
