I am a student-athlete at Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School and will graduate in 2018. I have many goals I would like to achieve in college and beyond. In college, my two primary goals are to major in Pediatric Nursing specializing in Oncology and competing in Track and Field at the next level.
I joined the track team my freshmen year underestimating what I was capable of. I consistently worked hard to help my team excel and we qualified for the State Championship in the 4x800 relay and the 4x400 relay. When my team won the 4x400, it made me realize that God had given me a talent and I needed to use it to my best ability. I then joined the cross country team to stay in shape for track and cross country also taught me discipline. This discipline helped me again to reach the State Championship individually in the 300 meter hurdles. Running has made me a stronger person and has taught me a great amount of life lessons.
Off the track, school is very important to me. Since I have played sports all year round, I have always worked hard to put my school work first, prioritize my time wisely and maintain above a 4.0 GPA. I love helping others and am interested in a school with a strong nursing program to prepare me for my future.
In conclusion, I am interested in attending a college that will help me achieve my goals. I am very coachable, strong-willed and will do anything to help benefit my team. I believe I can use my mid-distance strengths to assist any college team.
