Hello! My name is Lela (pronounced Layla) Walker and I am currently a sophomore at Sycamore High School. As a sprinter and a hurdler, I am heavily determined to reach my goals in this sport, learn from my mistakes in order to grow, and have great sportsmanship with my teammates. Ever since I started hurdling in the 8th grade, I've always thought about running collegiality. Through the falls, tears, and self-pity, I worked with my confidence to become the best hurdler I can be. I may not have the best times in my state, but I'm proud of my determination to race the clock in every race. When I do become a collegiate hurdler, my main goals in this sport is to secure my confidence when I reach success and failure, and to be there for my teammates whether they win or lose as well. Therefore, I am very excited for my upcoming junior season this fall and hope to achieve my goals in order to hurdle in college!
