I started track when I was in eighth grade, after my schools track coach recommended it to me. After practices and the first few meets I realized that I had a great passion for it. Working hard towards getting lower times motivates me to want to compete at the collegiate level. I think going to college for track would be a dream come true.
Before I started track, I just finished six years of competitive gymnastics. Gymnastics taught me discipline, to work hard, and to focus on what you are trying to achieve. During those practices, we did a lot of stretching and conditioning, and training was twenty hours per week, all year round. To this day I continue that level of conditioning in the weight room and on the track.
During the off season, I continued to train to do personal training by attending track camps at Spire Institute, including a three week elite training program with Coach Kerron Stewart. I also work with a personal trainer, Coach Derek McKinley.
I would like to attend a college where I can ultimately compete at the highest level of competition possible as well as earn a valuable degree to prepare myself for a career.
