Hello coaches,
I am a senior right now and have been running for two years. Unfortunately, the first year and a half I dealt with major injuries and was still learning how to race. So, this really is my first year I am able to go into a race without any setbacks or problems. Because I did not make a lot of progress or have the best times those two years, I really have never thought of running in college until recently; I never thought it was even a possibility. With all that being said, having the opportunity to run at a competitive school both academically and athletically would be the greatest opportunity. My first two years were learning processes, so I am just now getting into racing and being able to push myself. I have a lot of untapped potential and would love the chance to learn from my coaches and teammates who would push me farther than I imagined.
Off the course, I stick to a very rigorous academic schedule. I have been on the high honor roll since 7th grade and even went to States for a science fair project. I have been invited to numerous medical camps (because of my academics), including a national one (National Student Leadership Conference) that was held at Harvard Medical School last summer. I plan to dual major in psychology and neuroscience with a minor in statistics on a pre-med track. Having a school that offers all those programs is just as important as having a very competitive high performing cross country team.
