Sienna Lalonde '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sienna Lalonde, and I just finished my Junior Year at Grimsby Secondary School in Grimsby, ON. I started running competitively in the fall of my sophomore year, after placing 8th at the OFSAA provincial championships in the 300m hurdles for my school team. I've been running for almost 2 years now, and I absolutely love the sport. Over the course of the past few years, I've tried other events as well, such as the 400m, 200m, 800m, and the 80m hurdles. I am a flexible and open-minded athlete that is willing to give a variety of events a try. 

My times have come down quite a bit over the past 2 years of competing. In grade nine, my personal best in the 300mH was a 48.97. One year later, during my sophomore year, I ran a 45.84 in the 300mH at the OFSAA championships. That same summer, in the 400mH my personal best was a 1:07.34. Now, one year later,  my time in the 400mH is a 1:03.77. 

Off of the track, I am a heavily involved student at Grimsby Secondary School. This past school year, I was the yearbook editor and Student Body Vice President. Furthermore, I have been voted in as the Student Body President for the 2017/2018 school year. I am also very academically inclined, maintaining principals honors for all 3 years of my high school career so far (95%+ overall average.) I am also a french immersion student, therefore the majority of my classes have been taught in french since the fifth grade. 

I hope to attend university in the fall of 2018 and pursue a degree in either marketing, or business administration. During high school, through a provincial business case-study competition called DECA Ontario, I found a career that I was passionate about. I look forward to finding a program that will help me achieve my goals both academically and athletically. 

I want to compete at the collegiate level because I love the sport of track and field, and I hope that my talent will make a positive contribution to a varsity program. I am equal parts committed to the academic side of my university experience as I am my athletic side, and I hope to commit to a team that will help me achieve my goals in both areas.
