Fall Update: Thank you to all the coaches I’ve spoken to over the past few months I’ve really enjoyed seeing the various university campuses and meeting some great people both in Canada and the U.S.
After careful consideration, I’ve decided to focus on the 200m, 300m, 400m, 600m and 800m events going forward, probably with a dedicated interest in improving my 200, 300 and 400m times. Once in junior and senior year at university, I may look to race at the 1500m and XC distances.
I am still uncommitted at this time. If you feel I could help your sprints/long sprints/mid distance team, I’d still like to hear from you.
What I can say to any coach is that I have a large range that I believe will be a huge benefit to any track team. I’m coachable, take instructions well, and enjoy competing individually or as part of a relay team or XC team.
A little bit of my history….. my Dad seemed to know that I was a decent runner when I was very young so he asked if I wanted to play soccer and that’s how it all got started. I’m sure his own experience with soccer helped “guide” me towards the sport he loved. I was then introduced to a running coach around the age of 11 or 12 and joined a running club. I participated in elementary school cross-country and track, starting in grade 4, while still running up and down the wing on a soccer pitch.
Covid was a struggle for everyone but I managed to train through 2020/2021 with a small group of soccer teammates and a great running coach.
Now coming towards the end of high school, I’m ready to take the next step on my journey and would love to be able to represent my university/college on the track and continue my academic success.
I’d say I’m a very competitive individual both in the classroom and on the track, court, or playing field. One of the things I love the most is the camaraderie that is formed when you are part of the team and how you work together to achieve not only your individual goals but the goals of the team. The bonds you create with your teammates last a lifetime, which I will always cherish.
