Katie Raines '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Katie Raines and I am a freshman in college, currently attending Western Oregon University. I personally thought that I was ready to hang up my spikes and just focus on academics. As I finished my first term I missed being on a team and am looking to transfer to continue competing. As I know it is very last minute and many places have already started up with practicing but I am ready to dive in and get some work done! I have grown up playing 4 to 5 sports a year and staying very busy so you could say I’m missing being that busy. I have juggled two sports at once twice a year this being volleyball and cross country and softball and track. I not only played multiple sports at once but maintained at least a 3.0 gpa through my whole high school career. I not only value my academics but also my teammates. I have been team captains in many of the sports I’ve played in but also a leader and a helping had as I was often called the mom of the team because I was always there to help and had supplies for every situation. I strive to keep a positive team attitude and always put a smile on someones face.
