Personal Statement
As a track and field student athlete, I have learned to be self driven and to manage my time wisely. I am a coachable athlete who is open to criticism and willing to do what is necessary to excel not only on the track, but in my classes as well. I have been running track since the fourth grade, and have developed a love for the sport. I was involved in AAU track and field in Cleveland, Ohio, and have qualified for the regional track meet for the past 3 years, as well as the Junior Olympic meet for the past two. Sadly, I was not able to attend because of a previous injury.
During my sophomore and junior years of high school I qualified for the PIAA District 3 championships for the 100m 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m, as well as the PIAA State Championship meet. My sophomore year I qualified for the 4x400m, and this past season I qualified for the 200m and the 4x100m. I was a semi-finalist in the 200m and am a 4x100 third place medalist.
In the classroom, I work diligently and put effort into all tests and assignments. I have learned the importance of identifying areas of weakness and doing all that I can to improve. Being a dedicated student athlete has shown me the importance of a strong work ethic and time management, as well as being able to be invested in both school and my sport
