I have always been interested in Track & Field but had only just started my junior year. I joined track as a freshly new runner with little expectations as to what I would accomplish in the season. I am a fast learner and am always trying to improve in any way that I can. I love the competition and the sense of community that Track offers.
My Junior year alone, I have made it to Mid Penns where I was seeded 15th and ultimately placed 5th overall for 100M hurdles. I also qualified for districts for the 100M hurdles. I went in there seeded 30th and placed 16th, making it to semi-finals. I do also run in the 300 M hurdles and in the past season, ran first leg on my schools 4x1 relay team. With more time and work put in, I believe that I have the potential to do a lot better and make it a lot farther my Senior year. I am working very hard in my off season and plan to run indoor track as well as continuing outdoor track in the upcoming year.
Starting my Senior year, I am running indoor and outdoor track. At my first indoor meet, I ran 55 M Hurdles for the first time and ran a 9.68. I made it to finals and finished 2nd out of 23 girls. At my second meet, I ran at a bigger invitational and ran a 9.66. I placed 10th overall out of 62 girls. In a recent meet, I ran 60 M hurdles and finished 7th out of 48.
I do well academically and strive to be the best I can be both inside and outside of the classroom and my sports. I have found a love for Track and definitely want to put all of my efforts and skills into a team beyond high school.
