I was a leader before I even knew what it meant to be one. My birth home was deemed unfit for children. I was later told by Children and Youth Services that despite being a toddler myself, I essentially acted as a mother figure for my younger sister. I have continued to be a leader of my siblings (sister Maddy/now 16 and brother Trent/now 14) between the transition to foster care, and into our wonderful forever home. I take great pride in consistently setting the best examples for my siblings; either in the classroom (where I currently maintain a 4.0 GPA), in the athletic arena, or in our community.
My family has strong roots in athletics, we have four “Henry Rules” as it pertains to sports. 1; be coachable. 2; be a great teammate. 3; outwork everyone. 4; be passionate about what you are doing. If you want someone in your Track & Field program that is the living embodiment of these “Commandments”, then I am exactly the student athlete for you.
It is my aspiration to pursue a degree that will enable me to either become an educator or a mental health expert. These potential career paths would enable me to accomplish my goals of continuing to be a leader and positive role model for others, as well as to help influence and empower others to be the best versions of themselves. I simply want to leave the world a better place than I found it.
I am very excited and incredibly passionate about the opportunity to become a collegiate student athlete. Thank you in advance for your potential interest, and I look forward to the opportunity to produce both for your university and your Track & Field program.
