I started running cross country and track during my 7th grade year. Each year I found that I truly enjoy my sport so much so I want to continue competing after high school. It would be an opportunity to be pushed to new heights I never thought possible, and for an overall exciting, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
My goal is to be the best possible student and athlete I can be, and to set myself up for a prosperous future. Ever since I started high school sports, I have been able to dutifully manage keeping my grades high while practicing and competing in both of my sports, and I take both very seriously. I always give my absolute all in both the classroom as well as on the racecourse and have never settled for any less than 110% effort in all I do. I have a strong work ethic, and always put everything into my practices, whether they're official team practices, conditionings, or the ones I do on my own time (during breaks/between seasons).
I have always valued leadership, responsibility, hard work, and good time management qualities, all of which I demonstrate in my academic and athletic careers as well as my other extracurricular activities (Drama club/community theatre). I am a very coachable athlete and a good team player who strives to get better each and every day.
All in all, I want to attend a college or university that will challenge me as a student and as an athlete. I am one of the most dedicated recruits out there and will do whatever it takes to ensure I thrive on the track as much as in class. I am open to any and all options to compete at the highest level I can. I hope to become a valuable team member and prove that hard work does indeed pay off in the long run, no pun intended.
