2019 25-6A Distri...Throughout my life the main source of my growth and knowledge has come from my family. From day one I have known the healthy and athletic lifestyle my parents lead. My passion for running stems from my experience watching my mom run track in college. Seeing the joy my family exhibited positively influenced my view of running, enticing me to learn more about the world of running. While sports have always been an important part of my life, my parents instilled the need for a strong academic foundation. I hold a strong work ethic, which I carry in both my academic and athletic life. This fuels my motivation to have a good balance as a student athlete. It’s how I learned to be disciplined and to accept failure when it happens. This is what makes me different than most athletes. Society views failure as a negative point in people’s lives which should be avoided, but I believe failure is the foundation upon which our goals and initiative are set. When we fail, it is how we respond to it that allows for growth. I believe this to be an important quality of mine that not only helps me now, but will reflect in my performance in the future. I would be a great addition to any team because of my values and good sportsmanship. I will help create and support a competitive atmosphere while maintaining a balanced team and friendship.
