I have ran track since I was in the seventh grade and I have continued to do so all throughout high school. My typical events are 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles, but I would consider myself a flexible track athlete because I would step up and run a leg in multiple relays if needed. I have been called “coachable” by my coaches because I’m able to take their directions and apply them to what I am doing in a workout or practice. This showed when I was asked to run in multiple Varsity meets my freshman year. I eventually lettered all four years in track, qualified for Area in 10th grade (100 meter hurdles and the 4x400 meter relay) and qualified for Regionals in 11th grade (100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles) and in 12th grade (300 meter hurdles and the 4x200 meter relay). Academically, I received a Student Achieving Excellence a few times throughout high school, a Soaring Eagle Award from my Biology teacher in 9th grade, and lettered 3 times. Continuing track in college is all that I ever wanted because even though track may be challenging sometimes, I love it and being able to achieve my goals as a team with other people who love this sport makes it even better.
