2024 Spotlight
2023 SpotlightHello, my name is Reese Jenkins, and I am from a small town named Dalhart that is in the Panhandle of Texas. I am currently a senior at Dalhart High School. While being a student athlete I have accomplished many amazing things as a student and an athlete. I have had the honor and privilege of representing my school and my town in the state track meet three years in a row. This past year my hard work paid off, and I got to bring home the bronze medal. For those that don’t know going to Austin Texas and competing at the University of Texas against the best the state of Texas has to offer is such an amazing experience. Also, this past track season I was able to complete a goal of mine I broke our school record with a jump of 12 feet 7 inches. That was held by another great vaulter that went on to do great things. Being a track athlete in the panhandle I would say presents many challenges. I have learned how to adapt to the ever-changing weather and the blowing wind while competing. I am not just a pole vaulter I also compete in the following. I run in the open 100, I am the fourth leg in the 4x100 relay, the fourth leg in the 4x200 relay. I am also a varsity volleyball player and a varsity cheerleader. As a student I maintain a 3.9 GPA, and I am in the top 10 of my class. I know I would not be where I am today without my faith, my family and my coaches. I plan to get a degree in business and would like to be part of a TEAM that I can contribute to and help grow and get better.
