Hello, my name is Avery Owen and I am entering my junior year of high school at Lakehill Preparatory School. My main sports are track and cross country, but I am also a member of the varsity volleyball and basketball teams. I have been on the track and cross country teams since seventh grade and worked hard to place 2nd at state in cross country and win a state championship in the 3200m sophomore year. Throughout my life I have always been involved in multiple sports including elite golf and club soccer teams. Competing in so many diverse sports has taught me how to be a focused and disciplined athlete who works to achieve difficult goals that I set for myself. I apply this focus that I learned from athletics to academics and have achieved a GPA of 3.89/4.00 for my freshman and sophomore year. I take a strong role in my school's community as a member of student council for the past four years, and I am involved in many clubs and extracurricular activities such as NHS, Yearbook, and Chess Club. I will continue to work hard throughout the remainder of my high school career to achieve personal goals in both running and academics and hope to be able to continue pursuing the sport that I love in college.
