Emersen Cochran '28 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Emersen and I am currently a freshman at Navarro High School.

I am a female athlete that has been in the track & field world since my 7th grade year. I aspire to become a part of a school and team, where I can share a passion for track with coaches and teammates that will challenge me and push me to become that best athlete that I can be! I am committed, dedicated, and more than willing to put in the time and effort on and off the track to grow as a better sprinter, thrower, jumper, person, and teammate. This past season (2025) I was a state finalist in the 400m. I was on the girls first team for San Antonio's All-Area track athletes for the 100m, 200m, & 400m. I made Texas High School Coaches Association All-State Team, as well as the Texas High School Coaches Association Super Elite team. This summer season, I decided to try the heptathlon and qualified for the AAU Jr. Olympics. 

Academically, I’ve always applied myself to be one of the best scholars possible. I am a part of the National Honor Society and student council. After high school, I plan on attending college and getting my MSN to become a traveling nurse. 

As an athlete, my passion for track and field is fueled by the hunger to want to succeed and be the best at what I'm doing. This past season, I was honored to qualify for the USATF Junior Olympics and AAU Nationals for the second year in a row, both of which reflect my dedication to the sport and my commitment to excellence.  I see every practice and every race as a step toward becoming the best version of myself. I approach training with a determined mindset, constantly striving for improvement. I hope to bring this same dedication, positivity, and commitment to your team!

Choosing a college where I can continue to pursue my track career, as well as my future nursing career, and grow as an individual are extremely important to me. I am confident that my work ethic, immense love for track, and dedication to success in all aspects of life and athletics, make me a strong candidate for your team.
