My aspirations are to go to a college where I can excel academically while participating in track and field. My running ability was discovered my seventh grades year at Pershing Middle School during track tryouts. Every since then I have fell in love with track and field. My passion for track inspired me to extend my track career beyond high school and compete on collegiate level. My determination to succeed academically and athletically will improve my chances of making an impact in the world with my talents and skills.
I am a leader on and off the track. Track and field has contributed to the development of many strengths that I possess. When I run, I feel a sense of peace and belonging. This helps me cope with life itself. It carries over to my academic discipline and desire to achieve. I am able to maintain my grades and carry myself with good character while participating in track. When you're in a relay, you have to depend on your teammates and trust that your training will pay off. This sense of teamwork has helped me develop overall as a balanced individual.
In addition, I am dedicated to my studies and I maintain a 4.25 GPA. I also volunteer through National Honor Society and currently a member of Student Council.
I strive to be the best at any task I'm faced with. I have always been taught that if one believes that you will achieve your goals then you can pursue them if you work diligently. I am focused and determined to succeed and there is no going backwards, despite the hardships that may come my way.
