I don't remember life without some kind of sporting event. At a week old, I was in my carrier at my brother's t-ball championship game. Every year since I was 4 months old, I sported a Wildcat uniform every Friday night from August until after Thanksgiving. Being an athlete in our family isn't a choice, it's a way of life. I grew up on the football field with my father and my 3 older brothers. I don't know what it is not to compete. After school practice, before school practice, summer workouts were not an option. This lifestyle has define who I am as an athlete and as a student. Because my father is also a coach, I am usually the first to arrive to practice and the last one to leave the field. These routines have helped me become the athlete and student that I am. I've never questioned if I'm going to college, the question was always, WHERE will I go? My grandparents, parents and brothers have all set the example when it came to academics. The one way I would be different was athletics. I want to be the first in my family to compete at the collegiate level. Getting and education in my first priority but my goal it to get an education while pursing the sport I love. Growing up in a sports family, the mentality has always been what is best for Teamguz? Being the part of a team is how I was raised and how I will continue to live my life. Team first.
