My name is Shayna Ann Engels and I have a passion for Biomedical engineering and chemistry and an even bigger passion for track and field, specifically javelin. I want to double major, majoring in biomedical engineering and a minor in chemistry. I love math and science and I want to lead a life of helping others through my creations and works. I have been in track since 7th grade and now am a junior at Arlington High school. I love throwing javelin and It means the world to me seeing my dedication lead to success as I continue to work hard. I was adopted 8 years ago and have tried many sports in those years but track has proved to be my safe place and place to let it all go and focus on nothing but throwing the javelin. I am a hard working student, I take AP and Honors classes to push myself and prepare myself for college both academics and balancing school, sports, and a job. I believe in hard work and pushing ones self if you feel passion to do so, I want to continue my career in javelin because the atmosphere it creates plus the people it surrounds me around makes my passion stronger and gives me a drive to follow my dreams no matter the cost.
