2024 Spotlight #2
2024 Spotlight
Lauren Triple Jum...I've been a three-sport varsity athlete at a 4A school since my freshman year in Cross Country, Basketball and Track. Track & field is by far my favorite and the sport I see myself continuing on in college. I've been the league champion in the TJ for the past three years and have been to state since my freshman year. I placed fourth at State this year with a jump of 36'11.75. I also went to state in the 300 hurdles both my sophomore and junior year. I'd have to say my favorite aspect of track is doing the heptathlon. I finished 6th at the Washington State Heptathlon with a score of 3877 this spring and have a new found passion for competing as a multi-sport athlete. With a little more practice, I know I will be over 4000. I think my coaches (and teachers) would say I am a very hard worker and that my best quality is that I am coachable, as I can take a coaching cue and apply it immediately. I am not afraid of a challenge and am good at pushing myself, but also staying level headed. I get along with everyone and try to bring a positive vibe to the team. I've been voted captain in all three sports and can't wait to continue growing as an athlete. I want to compete in college. I have the desire, work ethic and attitude to be successful. I have a supportive family, with a rich history of track and field. I look forward to seeing where my future takes me!
