Allanah Whitehall '12 Recruiting Profile

I was very shy when I was younger but I realized my personal power when I started running Track. I have loved it ever since and as a student-athlete in the truest sense, I am looking to continue my track career at a school that I can contribute to and grow from as a competitor in the classroom and on the track. My strengths are that I am well-rounded student athlete who has a strong competitive desire and a passion for track. My desire and commitment to being the best is what separates me from my peers. I am a perfectionist and I work hard on trying to achieve perfection. I am a varsity athlete. I was the 100m Metro Champion in 2009 and won 2nd Place in the 200m Metro Championships that year. As a freshman and sophomore I ran 1st leg on the 4x400m relay team that placed 4th at State in 2009 and 6th at State in 2010. I have regularly competed at the USATF Junior Olympics National Championships in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay from 2009 back to 2004 when I placed 3rd in the 100m and 8th in the 200m. My personal best in the 100m and 200m in 2010 were :12.63 and :26.14. This year season my goal is to break the :12 and :26 barriers in my individual sprints.  I'm almost there! To reach my goal I have worked on strength training/Olympic lifting during the off-season and completed an advance fitness course at my high school. I am open to considering a college or university any where in the United States. I am a undecided major that enjoys science and sports. I want to run track with a competitive team at a school that supports student-athletes. I will be a great asset to any team because of my skill, character, and commitment on and off the track. I want to be the best that I can and I'm willing to work hard.
