Hello! My name is Malaina Telschow and I am a 2025 track and field athlete. Off of the track I am a very studious student who works hard for good grades. I am apart of many extracurricular activities outside of school. I know how to balance my school work with my athletics. I am a very hard working and motivated athlete. I am always willing to take the extra step to be better for myself and my team. I had first joined track in middle school to have some fun and try something new. I started pole vaulting later into my freshman season and that’s where I found my passion for it. I finished that season as a sectional qualifier. My sophomore season did not go as any athlete would wish. I went through my season with self doubt and never feeling like I was good enough. I finished my season as second place in my conference but missed sectionals after a hard meet. I decided to change my whole mindset and figure myself out. I worked in and out of the gym. I joined a pole vault club called Green Bay Pole Vault. During my off season I worked on my mind set and my strength and speed. I was determined to just be better. I went into this season with a better mindset and I achieved all my goals. I got my school record with 10’10”. Then I got my next goal which was state and at the same meet I got 11’3” which was another goal of mine. My last goal was to get top 3 at state and I went out there at was the state runner-up for D3 girls pole vault with 11’. I am still very eager for more but I have stayed humble and am not just expecting state to be handed to me next year and that I need to keep working hard. After finishing high school I plan on going to college to pursue a exercise science degree. I am looking for a school that fits many of my needs and wants. I am open to looking at any college but have a big interest in staying in the Midwest. I really hope I can achieve my goals by finding my perfect college while continuing my track career.
