Hi, my name is Seneca Funmaker. I have always been a determined and active individual. From my years growing up, my passion was playing women's basketball. I was fortunate enough to play in school, club, and AAU basketball. With my team playing experience I was able to grow leadership skills and become a team player. Basketball was my main sport until I was introduced to Track and Feild. During my freshman year of high school, I was a varsity thrower in shotput. I didn't have much experience and technique coming into track and field, so for my first ever varsity track meet I was very nervous. In the end, my teammates and I took first at Baraboo Relays in shot put. Coming into my junior track season I was very successful in my events. I worked hard, focused, and stayed motivated. Ultimately I placed 2nd at Division I regionals and moved onto sectionals at Madison Memorial. The knowledge and experience that I gained last year have pushed me to work harder than ever to achieve my goal to throw in college. I want to continue to work hard as a student-athlete, and academically as well in a strong program. I believe I am strong mentally and physically and would be an asset to a college. My dedication to throwing and academics is high, my academic goal is to pursue an education in the psychology field and with a minor in art. My family has been my number one support from my whole athletic career, their motivation has encouraged me to work hard do the best I can to reach my goals.
