I am currently a Junior at Lake Mills High School. I have been on the Varsity track team for 3 years. I also play Varsity Basketball. I joined track my Freshman year to stay in shape for Basketball. I found it is something I really enjoy and I am pretty good at it. I have been adding more events each year that I compete, but High Jump is my strong area. I have consistently placed first at several meets, breaking PR's already twice this year. My goal is to hopefully break our school record before I graduate. It is attainable as I am only a few inches away from it. I find I really enjoy being a part of a track team and it is something I would love the opportunity to continue into my college career. I feel that I would stand out from other recruits because of how I was brought up. My life is not like many others. I live on a dairy farm. My family operates it and I have been a paid employee since I was 12. I learned early on what it meant to work hard for something. I was brought up that whatever you do you work for it and you always, always give the best that you have got. If you feel you are able to do better than you work hard to get where you want to be. I apply that to athletics. I go in early for basketball practice before school and after school I have track practice or meets. I have been able to combine workouts so that they apply to both sports. I work a 4 hour shift or two each week at the farm.
