Hi my name is Maddy Bullard and I am a senior in high school. As of October 12th, I unfortunately tore my ACL and meniscus in a volleyball game. I had surgery on October 30th and have started my 9-12 month recovery. With that being said, I have been an athlete and involved in sports since I was 3 years old. I started in dance, which then quickly turned into gymnastics, where I was a state champion 3 years in a row. I started playing volleyball, basketball and eventually started doing track in 6th grade. I loved it and it definitely helped put my competitiveness to good use. School is very important to me and my academic achievements are just as significant as my athletic achievements. I’ve always been involved with my community and my school by participating in 4-H for 8 years and Student Council since elementary school. I started volunteering at my local Child Development Center last year, and I love it! I love working with kids, and it has helped me decide to focus on pediatric dentistry. Track is my favorite sport because every event I do is solely dependent on how I perform, and I love knowing that if I want to get better, then I have to work for it myself. I always put 110% into everything I do, and I love encouraging my teammates and friends to do the same. My goal is to compete in long and triple jump at the highest college level while also studying medicine.
